STORY: Al Ittihad have been crowned Saudi Pro League champions after their final game of the season ended in a one-nil win over Damac on Monday (May 26).

Al Ittihad, coached by former France international Laurent Blanc, had already clinched the league with two games to go but had to wait until the final game to receive the trophy infront of a packed crowd at the King Abdullah Stadium on the outskirts of Jeddah.

Steven Bergwijn scored the game's only goal, beating Damiac's goalkeeper Florin Nita with a right footed shot from inside the area.

Al Ittihad will now aim to complete a domestic double when they play Al-Qadisiyah in the King's Cup of Champions on Friday.
