Mohamed Salah threads a pass to Dominik Szoboszlai for a 1-0 Liverpool lead.

Liverpool beat Real Betis 1-0 in Arne Slot's first official friendly as head coach on Friday, as Dominik Szoboszlai's first-half goal ensured the club's U.S. preseason tour kicked off with a win.

The Hungary international exchanged a slick one-two with Mohamed Salah in the 34th minute before placing a shot into the far corner.

Slot used the game in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to see as much of his travelling squad as possible, with 23 players taking to the pitch at the Acrisure Stadium.

Trey Nyoni came on a substitue for Curtis Jones in the first half after the English midfielder suffered a knock in what was the only concern from the game for the new head coach.

Nyoni, 17, impressed with his cameo, playing a role in the build-up to the decisive goal, while Ben Doak and Connor Bradley also shone.

Liverpool take on Arsenal in Philadelphia on Wednesday before concluding the U.S. tour against Manchester United in South Carolina on Saturday.
