Tziarra King taps in a goal for Seattle

Seattle Reign FC edged Angel City FC 3-2 at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles on Friday. Alyssa Thompson opened the scoring for Angel City in the eighth minute, but Seattle responded with goals from Sofia Huerta and Ji So-Yun to take a 2-1 lead into halftime.

Thompson's goal was assisted by Sydney Leroux, who also found the net late in stoppage time to give Angel City hope. However, Angel City was unable to score an equalizer as Tziarra King's second-half strike proved decisive for Seattle.

Goalkeeper DiDi Haracic made four saves for Angel City (6-3-10) but conceded a penalty by fouling Jordyn Huitema in the penalty area in the 28th minute. Huerta buried the spot kick into the right corner to pull Seattle even at 1-1. Ji then put Seattle (5-5-9) ahead for good with a goal in the sixth minute of first-half stoppage time.

King's goal in the 58th minute, assisted by Ana-Maria Crnogorcevic, ended up as the winner. Goalkeeper Claudia Dickey helped preserve Seattle's lead with five crucial saves.
