Washington Spirit triumph over Bay FC with late goal

Croix Bethune scored five minutes into stoppage time to lift the Washington Spirit to a 2-1 victory over Bay FC on Saturday at Audi Field in Washington.

The Spirit came back from an early 1-0 deficit, with Hal Hershfelt tying the game (on an assist from Trinity Rodman) in the 23rd minute. Rodman later set up several key plays before being substituted because of injury. 

Other notable contributions came from Ashley Hatch, who provided an assist on Bethune's game-winning goal following a set piece, while Spirit goalkeeper Aubrey Kingsbury made four saves.

Dorian Bailey opened the scoring for Bay FC in the 11th minute, with an assist from Asisat Oshoala.
