Brazil eliminates shorthanded Mexico from W Gold Cup
Brazil rolled past Mexico 3-0 on Wednesday at Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego to advance to the finals of the 2024 Concacaf W Gold Cup.
First-half goals from Adriana and Antonia came either side of a red card given to Mexico's Nicki Hernández after a VAR review that left the Concacaf side with just 10 players for the final 60-plus minutes of the match.

The one-way traffic continued at the start of the second half with Yasmim redirecting a Gabi Portilho cross with a clever flick three minutes after the restart, but shorthanded Mexico dug deep and was able to keep Brazil off the scoresheet for the rest of the game.
Mexico exits the inaugural women's edition of the Gold Cup at the semifinal stage having scored 13 goals and pulling off an impressive upset of the United States in the group stage, a first win over the Americans since 2010.
Brazil now awaits the outcome of the second semifinal between Canada and the U.S. to see which team it will face in the final.
