“It’s been a wonderful 15 days in every sense. The reception I’ve received from the Brazilian people has been wonderful. Today, at the stadium, they gave me a lot of T-shirts. The atmosphere inside the CBF, which is a fantastic environment, like a family. The attitude of the players and the good relationship that exists between them, I liked everything. All that was missing was a victory and we got it. So we’re happy."

STORY: Brazil secured their spot at the 2026 World Cup on Tuesday (June 10), taking the second of South America's six automatic qualifying berths after champions Argentina booked their ticket in March. Brazil beat Paraguay 1-0 in Sao Paulo.

A goal from Real Madrid attacker Vinicius Jr. on the stroke of halftime made it a winning home debut for Brazil's new coach Carlo Ancelotti.

Brazil extended their record as the only team to play in every edition of the World Cup, with the five-times winners set to make their 23rd appearance in next year's tournament in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
