Elgin see off Alloa
Elgin pulled off a 2-0 upset against Ladbrokes Championship side Alloa in extra-time to move into the Petrofac Training Cup quarter-finals.Alloa had managed the better opportunities in the first half, with Michael Duffy particularly dangerous, while Isaac Layne tested Elgin goalkeeper Mark Hurst just after the break.League Two Elgin had to come from behind to beat Stirling Albion in the previous round, and they managed to hold Alloa off for 104 minutes, before taking the lead through Craig Gunn's penalty in extra-time.Elgin, who only went in with four men on the bench including a goalkeeper, did not make their first substitution until after that first goal.With Alloa having played their bench cards in normal time, Elgin added a second goal in the second half of extra time, with Marc McKenzie slotting home another penalty after being fouled himself.
