BRIEF-Soccer-Socceroos striker Kennedy joins Japan's Nagoya

TOKYO, June 21 - Towering Australia striker Josh
Kennedy has signed for Japan's Nagoya Grampus, the J-League
club said on Sunday.

Kennedy, who helped the Socceroos qualify for next year's
World Cup, joins Nagoya from Germany's Karlsruhe following
their relegation from the Bundesliga.

The 26-year-old had demanded a move from Karlsruhe in order
to get more first-team opportunities before the World Cup
finals in South Africa.

Kennedy is well known in Japan where media devote column
inches and air time to the 1.94 metre forward in the build-up
to international games against Australia.

Japan qualified for the 2010 World Cup after finishing
runners-up behind Australia in Group One of the final round of
Asian qualifiers.
