Hamilton: Ireland will put down a marker vs. Italy (0:54)

Tom Hamilton believes that Ireland's game vs. Italy "will be key" for the Irish players to stake a claim for selection for the Lions tour in June. (0:54)

The final weekend of the 2025 Six Nations is here, and there are multiple teams in the mix for the trophy. The action kicks off in Rome, where Ireland had been hoping to clinch a record third-straight title but now must hope for results later on.

A bonus-point victory for Ireland could still land them the history they crave, but they need Wales to at least stop England from securing a bonus point and for Scotland to stun France.

Team news:

Italy:Italy captain Michele Lamaro has been dropped to the bench against Ireland, with head coach Gonzalo Quesada making seven changes for their final game of the Six Nations on Saturday.

Lamaro has started the last 24 Six Nations matches but has been replaced by Manuel Zuliani, who came off the bench in the last four games and last started a Six Nations fixture last year against Ireland.

Centre Juan Ignacio Brex takes over as captain for the second time, having led the side last November against New Zealand when Lamaro was out injured.

With Matt Gallagher suffering a knee injury on his Six Nations debut in the 47-24 defeat by England last Sunday, Ange Capuozzo returns to the wing, which brings Tommaso Allan back into the side at fullback.

Ireland: Interim coach Simon Easterby has made some changes to the side that were crushed by France. Sam Prendergast has been dropped at fly-half in favour of Jack Crowley.

Mack Hansen, James Lowe, Garry Ringrose and Tadgh Furlong also return to the squad. Furlong is set for his first match of the series having been battling hamstring and calf injuries.

Ringrose and Robbie Henshaw will start in the midfield in Rome with Bundee Aki dropping to the bench.
