Dylan Pietsch will make his first run-on Test start while Jake Gordon returns at halfback for the Wallabies' return Bledisloe Cup clash in Wellington on Saturday.
Coach Joe Schmidt unveiled his team on Thursday, confirming the Wallabies had made just the two backline changes to the run-on team that suffered a heartbreaking 31-28 defeat in Sydney last weekend.
Pietsch's promotion to the starting side comes at the expense of veteran Marika Koroibete, with the left winger having succumbed to a wrist injury earlier in the week.
The Force-bound former Sevens star came on midway through the second half in Sydney, securing a vital breakdown turnover that halted an All Blacks' attack later in the Test.
"It wasn't too bad post-game, the morning after was pretty uncomfortable and it swelled up on the flight across," Schmidt said of Koroibete's injury. "There's no serious damage but it's still quite inflamed, quite uncomfortable and he's not ready to play.
"He wasn't fully right to train and do any contact today, and if he's not right for today then it's a risk for the weekend. And Dylan Pietsch had done well coming off the bench, so we've got confidence in the squad and we're trying to grow the squad and grow the depth, so it's an opportunity for somebody else to step up and give it their best shot."
Gordon, meanwhile, returns after sitting out the opening trans-Tasman clash. Schmidt reported both the Waratahs skipper and Tate McDermott had returned weary from Argentina, but the Queenslander still deputized for Nic White off the bench in Sydney.
Schmidt said White had not been dropped on account of his performance last Saturday.
"There was certainly no one dumped, we were really happy with Nic White," the Wallabies coach said. "I explained last week that Nic White was fresh legs; Jake had had a very big tour of Argentina, we'd had a very long trip back and Nic was fresh and ready to go.
"I don't know if you had a look at too many of the contacts he wore [in Sydney], he was pretty beaten up at the end of it, and Jake's fresh. So we've got confidence in all three of our halfbacks, so it's very much a best fit for any given occasion.
"But Nic did very well; previous to that Jake had done very well, he was particularly good in that game in La Plata, and that gives us a lot of confidence."
The Wallabies have meanwhile named an unchanged pack.
There is however three further changes among the replacements, with the record-breaking James Slipper and Tom Lynagh both set to miss the Sky Stadium clash. Lynagh has battled hamstring issues through the Test season but Schmidt confirmed that Slipper was fit to play, but that the Wallabies wanted to give Isaac Kailea another opportunity at Test level.
With Pietsch promoted to the starting side, Queenslander Josh Flook has won a recall to cover the outside backs, while Ben Donaldson, who started in the 67-27 hammering by the Pumas in Santa Fe steps in for Lynagh.
The Wallabies are looking to end a 23-year drought in New Zealand and arguably have not had a better chance to do so given the All Blacks' recent struggles at the "Cake Tin".
Earlier Thursday, All Blacks coach Scott Robertson promoted Beauden Barrett to the No. 10 jersey after Damian McKenzie failed to ice several golden try-scoring opportunities in Sydney last week.
Barrett is joined in New Zealand's starting XV by Anton Lienert-Brown and TJ Perenara for what will be the veteran scrum-half's final Test on home soil.
Lienert-Brown is the beneficiary of Jordie Barrett's misfortune, with the All Blacks vice-captain ruled out with a knee injury.
