Manu Tuilagi and Denny Solomona have been sent home from England's preseason training camp following "team culture issues".
The Rugby Football Union (RFU) released a two-line statement on Monday morning announcing the news but have declined to comment further.
Press Association Sport has reported that the pair have been disciplined for drinking alcohol during the three-day camp.
Tuilagi had been a surprise inclusion in the 37-man squad, with coach Eddie Jones urging the Leicester centre to rediscover the form that saw him "demolish" the All Blacks in 2012.

It is not the first time that Tuilagi has found himself in trouble with the RFU. In 2011, he was detained by police in New Zealand after diving into the harbour following England's exit from the Rugby World Cup, while he was not considered for selection four years later after he was convicted of assaulting two female police officers and a taxi driver.
His indiscretion comes less than two days after Jones warned Kyle Sinckler over his future conduct after he was arrested while on British & Irish Lions duty, and urged his players to learn from the prop's mistake.
Leicester issued a statement with head coach Matt O'Connor stating: "This is particularly disappointing because Manu has worked so hard to get back to fitness after long-term injury and to get back into the England squad. This matter has been dealt with by the RFU and we will talk to Manu on his return to the club."
Solomona, meanwhile, made his England debut during the 2-0 series win in Argentina in June.
His club, Sale, released a statement on Monday afternoon in which director of rugby Steve Diamond expressed his disappointment at the winger's misdemeanour.
Diamond said: "This is disappointing news because Denny has worked so hard since joining the club last December. He hasn't had much time off and his performances earned him a place on the recent England tour to Argentina.
"This matter has been dealt with by the RFU and I will speak to Denny on his return to Carrington."
