King Neeraj, GOAT Sindhu, 'Kaur' strength: India's Tokyo Olympics, in memes

ESPN

The Tokyo 2020 Olympics was quite an adventure. Ups, downs, tears of despair, tears of joy, and all ending with India's highest-ever medal tally at the Games.

Now that we've all had a bit of a breather, let's look back at India's campaign through the internet's best friend: memes.

First, let's bow down to our new king - Neeraj Chopra, who won India's first athletics gold ever!

On the same day, Bajrang Punia became the sixth Indian wrestler to medal at the Olympics. Despite a devastating defeat in the semis, and an injury, Bajrang bossed the bronze medal match.

Earlier, PV Sindhu became only the second Indian athlete, and the first Indian woman, with two individual Olympic medals.

Let's bow down to our queen!

Before all of this, on the first day, a badass weightlifter started India's campaign with a medal - Mirabai Chanu became only the second Indian medalist in weightlifting.

And then there was an unlikely bronze from Lovlina Borgohain.

India's young shooters went with high hopes and fell short. But they will get there.

As for the men's hockey team? They forgot all about the past, won bronze and created a hopeful future for the sport in the country.

And nope, we didn't cry at all, did you?

Meanwhile, Aditi Ashok made thousands of Indians become golf fans in a matter of four days.

But before we forget, here's a picture of Savita Punia.

Kamalpreet Kaur was another one of India's unsung heroes - sixth in the shot put, equaling India's second- best finish in a field event.

While you get on that hype train along with everyone else, lemme ask you a quick question.

Awkward? Alright, let's just move on and wait for Neeraj Chopra's biopic.

The end.
