Training camps have kicked off around the NFL, and our team reporters are on the ground each day following all the action. The Arizona Cardinals' camp is taking place in Glendale, Arizona, and Cardinals reporter Josh Weinfuss has the latest intel on standouts, highlights, position battles, depth chart movement, cut decisions and of course the quarterback room.
What follows is everything we are seeing and hearing at Cardinals camp. We will update this file often. What's going on with the rookies? Can Marvin Harrison Jr. take a step forward in Year 2? Who are the breakouts to watch, especially for fantasy football? And which players on the roster bubble could make the final 53?
Let's get into it all, and be sure to keep checking back for more information until the first full week of the preseason begins Thursday.

Latest news from Cardinals camp
Wednesday, Aug. 6
Marvin Harrison Jr. continued to show Wednesday how his added muscle will help him on the field.
During an 11-on-11 red zone drill, Harrison bodied cornerback Kei'Trel Clark along the sideline to make a catch. It was the latest example of how Harrison's extra 11 pounds to his 220-pound frame are making an impact.
Throughout camp, Harrison has been more physical and been able to fend off defensive backs better than he did last season, when he weighed 209 pounds.
Harrison also made another impressive catch during practice, twisting in midair to make a catch on a throw that was behind him.

Offensive lineman Jon Gaines II had his right hand wrapped up on Wednesday. He left practice Saturday with a thumb injury.
Wide receiver Michael Wilson, who's in the concussion protocol, was catching punts while wearing a yellow jersey, signifying he can't be touched.

CB Will Johnson. The second-round pick has shined day in and day out during training camp. It didn't take him long to begin running with the first-team defense and during 11-on-11 drills, it's become clear that he's carved out a role as Arizona's third cornerback who will play outside corner in nickel and dime packages.
The rookie has made some impressive plays, like his interception of Kyler Murray on Saturday, while also being consistent throughout the three weeks of camp.

Can the Cardinals solidify a rotation on the defensive line and at outside linebacker that'll help the defensive take the next step this season?
Tuesday, Aug. 5
Cardinals receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. returned to practice on Tuesday after missing three days last week with a sore knee.
He took the field wearing a sleeve on his left leg and participated in what was a light practice. The plan is for Harrison, along with the other starters, to play in Saturday's preseason game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Coach Jonathan Gannon said all along the Cardinals were being "smart" with Harrison's knee, which included giving him time off to rest.
More:
Offensive lineman Jon Gaines II didn't practice Tuesday because of a thumb injury. He left practice early on Saturday alongside a trainer.
Wide receiver Michael Wilson and linebacker J.J. Russell are still in the concussion protocol.
Defensive lineman Justin Jones continues to deal with a knee injury and wide receiver Simi Fehoko is dealing with a quad.
Monday night was the rookie show and Gannon noted one performance in particular that stood out. Rookie defensive lineman Elijah Simmons sang so well that he received a standing ovation and was called back up front to sing some more.
In the rookie show, Gannon said cornerback Will Johnson, tight end Oscar Cardenas and wide receiver Bryson Green and the offensive linemen all "did a good job."
The Cardinals had some dessert food trucks at their training camp hotel for a treat after the rookie show. It was a chance to take one last breath and relax before the seriousness of the week, which includes the first preseason game, settles in.
Saturday, Aug. 2
Rookie cornerback Will Johnson continued to impress during Saturday's practice. He intercepted quarterback Kyler Murray along the sideline while defending veteran receiver Zay Jones. Johnson stepped in front of Jones, intercepted the pass and held on to it as the two went to the ground.
The reaction after Johnson's interception was boisterous on the defensive sideline. Johnson was mobbed by his teammates and celebrated with safety Budda Baker.
Johnson has been getting more first-team reps as training camp has gone on, mainly as the outside cornerback in nickel and dime packages when Garrett Williams, the starting outside cornerback, moves inside to play in the slot.
More:
Offensive lineman Jon Gaines II left practice early and walked to the locker room alongside a trainer.
The Cardinals utilized their three outside linebacker package again on Saturday, with Josh Sweat, Zaven Collins and Baron Browning.
Coach Jonathan Gannon said he's a fan of the Cardinals' three safety packages because of all the "interchangeable parts" that are on the field at the same time with the likes of Baker, Jalen Thompson and Dadrion Taylor-Demerson.
Friday, Aug. 1
Cardinals wide receiver Michael Wilson left practice early after colliding with safety Budda Baker on a deep throw from quarterback Kyler Murray.
Both players were down for a few moments, but got up and walked away from the incident. Wilson walked to the locker room toward the end of practice alongside a trainer under his own power.
Wilson dove for a pass from Murray and the left side of his head collided with Baker's right knee. Wilson laid on the ground for a few seconds before going to his knees and hands, and then eventually stood up. Baker held onto his right knee in pain before standing and limping off.

Cardinals rookie pass rusher Jordan Burch continued to get first-team reps on Friday. The third-round pick ran with the first- and second-team defenses for a number of drills, getting crucial time on the field as Arizona begins to slowly sort out its 53-man roster.
Wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. and offensive lineman Jake Curhan both missed practice again Friday. Harrison is dealing with a sore knee and Curhan is dealing with an ankle.
Thursday, July 31
Cardinals receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. did not practice because of what coach Jonathan Gannon called knee soreness.
Harrison, who's entering his second season, will be day-to-day as Arizona enters its second week of camp. The Cardinals returned from a day off, which was preceded by back-to-back padded practices. Gannon said there were "some sore soldiers" after Tuesday's practice.
With Harrison, the Cardinals' goal is to be cautious.
"He's OK," Gannon said. "Gonna be smart with him."
Without Harrison, Arizona used the three-wide receiver lineup of Zay Jones, Greg Dortch and Michael Wilson.
More:
Rookie outside linebacker Jordan Burch took snaps with the first team as roles start to become a bit more defined.
Gannon called the battle at inside linebacker "tight."
Gannon showered praise on second-year right guard Isaiah Adams, who's slid into a starting role this year. "Isaiah had a hell of a week last week," Gannon said. "Honestly, he probably won the day on whatever our last day was."
The Cardinals showed their three outside linebacker package with Josh Sweat, Zaven Collins and Baron Browning all lining up on the defensive front along with defensive lineman Calais Campbell.
There were also snaps when Campbell lined up outside to rush the passer off the edge.
Tuesday, July 29
Tuesday was the Trey McBride Show at training camp. A day after the Cardinals' offense struggled on the first day of padded practices, it turned in a productive day on Tuesday, courtesy of McBride.
The tight end was on the receiving end of three of Kyler Murray passes during 11-on-11s. One of which was a tough grab in contested coverage by linebacker Akeem Davis-Gaither. Another was a touchdown catch in red zone 11-on-11 on which Murray adjusted his arm angle and slung it nearly sideways to McBride who caught it and muscled his way into the end zone.

Cardinals coach Jonathan Gannon said linebacker Zaven Collins will play outside linebacker and then will have his versatility utilized. The comments came a day after Collins lined up at inside linebacker during 11-on-11.
Max Melton had an impressive interception of Murray during 7-on-7. Melton said he was excited about the idea of becoming an every-down cornerback, which, he added, is the goal of every young defensive back.
Wide receiver Zay Jones took offense to a pass break-up by cornerback Garrett Williams during red zone 11-on-11, getting in the corner's face after Williams made the tough play.
Murray was also intercepted by safety Jalen Thompson in the end zone during red zone 11-on-11.
Monday, July 28
Until Monday, the Cardinals' offense had been playing well day in and day out during training camp. Then the pads came on, and the result wasn't pretty.
"We haven't had a bad day until today," quarterback Kyler Murray said after Monday's practice.
Arizona's offense struggled to get much of anything going during 11-on-11. On the first play of 11-on-11 in the red zone, linebacker Mack Wilson Sr. picked off Murray, ran it back to the end zone and then punted the ball out of the field.

Murray said, until Monday, the offense had been "executing at a high level," but the Cardinals' additions on defense came to play when the pads showed up. When asked who wrecked Arizona's offense the most on Monday, Murray couldn't put a name to it.
There were too many defenders to list.
"You never know. We got so many guys," Murray said. "I feel like plethora of dudes over there that can make plays, and I think that's what you want. Kind of have a platoon system: four guys come in, four guys go out. It should be dangerous."
More:
At the onset of the first padded 11-on-11, Zaven Collins was lined up at inside linebacker. He spent the last two seasons transitioning to outside linebacker after being drafted as an inside linebacker in 2021.
Cornerback Garrett Williams, who has been playing more outside corner in Arizona's base defense, said the plan this year was for him to always play more outside corner, even before Starling Thomas V tore an ACL.
Marvin Harrison Jr. had an impressive one-handed catch in one-on-one drills against rookie and former Ohio State teammate Denzel Burke.
In 7-on-7, Harrison faced off against rookie cornerback and former Michigan foe Will Johnson a few times, and Johnson got physical with Harrison, pushing him to the ground at one point.
Sunday, July 27
With cornerback Starling Thomas V officially out for the season, the focus of training camp has turned to who will be his replacement.
Coach Jonathan Gannon said Sunday that Thomas would've definitely made the team, so finding his replacement is critical before Week 1. The Cardinals' started showing hints of who's next in line to take over for Thomas, who started 15 games last season. In base defenses, Melton and Garrett Williams were the cornerbacks.
In nickel -- depending on how many safeties were on the field -- rookie Will Johnson was an outside corner, and Williams moved inside. On the plays in which three safeties were on the field, Melton and Williams were the cornerbacks.
The Cardinals' top three cornerback spots appear to be close to solidified with the rest of the cornerback roster spots still up for grabs.
More:
In red zone 11-on-11 drills, quarterback Kyler Murray looked Marvin Harrison Jr.'s way more times than not. On one play, Arizona overloaded one side with four receivers and Murray hit Harrison on a slant into the end zone.
Running back DeeJay Dallas was getting a number of reps with the Cardinals' first team in the red zone, a job that was primarily Emari Demercado's last season.
Murray put his arm on display Sunday, hitting Harrison on a 43-yard dart for a touchdown down the right sideline.
Friday, July 25
Cardinals cornerback Starling Thomas V went down late in practice and had to be carted off the field. Details of his injury aren't available yet, but the significance of losing Thomas could be great. He started 15 of 17 games last season for the Cardinals and allowed 32 catches for 434 yards and three touchdowns.
Should Thomas miss time, the Cardinals have a crowded cornerback room to pick a replacement from. Rookie Will Johnson has been stacking productive days early in camp, general manager Monti Ossenfort said. Max Melton came along in the second half of last season. Arizona also has Garrett Williams, who will be the nickel but can be productive at corner.
The Cardinals drafted Denzel Burke and has Elijah Jones coming off an injury, so there is a plethora of options for Arizona should Thomas be out long term.
More:
The Cardinals spent Friday's practice moving players into different situations to get evaluations of as many players as possible with the first teams. Zaven Collins and Baron Browning took reps with the second team -- while Collins also got first-team reps. Linebacker Owen Pappoe went from taking reps with the first team on Thursday to running with the third team on Friday, and had a nice pass breakup. L.J. Collier took first-team snaps on Friday, after getting second-team snaps on Thursday.
There were times during 11-on-11 drills on Thursday that when the Cardinals used 12 personnel, tight end Trey McBride wasn't on the field. Instead, Arizona used fellow tight ends Tip Reiman and Elijah Higgins as the blocking tight ends.
At one point during practice, coach Jonathan Gannon stood behind back-up quarterback Jacoby Brissett to listen to him deliver the play from the headset to the huddle.
Kyler Murray completed a dime of a throw to Zay Jones, adjusting his arm angle to throw it nearly sidearm and dropped it right into Jones' breadbasket.
Thursday, July 24
Before practice, coach Jonathan Gannon said Marvin Harrison Jr.'s added weight will help the receiver run through contact at the line of scrimmage. During practice, Harrison showcased just how his extra bulk will help. During 6-on-9 drills -- where six offensive players face nine defenders -- Harrison came down with a back shoulder catch despite tight coverage from veteran safety Jalen Thompson, and then rolled to the ground while maintaining contact.
It was an example, despite being touched, of how his extra muscle will help Harrison in tight coverage.
Two rookies were getting reps with the starting defense on Thursday. Second-round pick Will Johnson was lined up at cornerback and fourth-round pick Cody Simon was getting reps at linebacker.
In the ever-increasing competition in the cornerback room, Starling Thomas V had an impressive PBU against running back James Conner in 6-on-9.
Wednesday, July 23
Rookie cornerback Will Johnson was among the first to go in a series of drills during the open portion of practice, a sign of his standing within the cornerbacks room.
Johnson, who signed his rookie contract Tuesday, will be competing for starting snaps during training camp. A lot can change before Week 1 of the regular season, but the fact that Johnson was getting his reps so high in the pecking order is telling.

Something else to be considered: Garrett Williams was getting reps with the safeties, where he'll be splitting his time along with the cornerbacks.
Running back DeeJay Dallas looked quick in drills. He'll be vying to make the team as a ball carrier and returner, where he excelled last season.
The first day of camp was a low day as far as intensity goes. Thursday, when fans will be allowed in for the first open practice, will be a high day and the pace will increase.
Michael Wilson was taking snaps at punt return. It's still too early in camp to get a feel for how that will play out long term.
