Zach Ertz makes an amazing one-handed catch, but he gets a concussion on the play and leaves the game. (0:29)

NEW ORLEANS -- Commanders tight end Zach Ertz was ruled out after sustaining a concussion in the second quarter of Washington's 20-19 victory over the New Orleans Saints following a one-handed grab in the red zone Sunday.

Ertz made the catch at the 10-yard line but hit his head on the ground when tackled at the 3. After being helped to the sideline, Ertz was evaluated for a concussion then ruled out.

Ertz is Washington's second-leading pass catcher, with 54 receptions and four touchdowns. Washington also has John Bates, who is more of a run blocker, and rookie Ben Sinnott on its tight end depth chart. Those two have combined for 10 catches.

Ertz's grab on third-and-3 set up Washington's second touchdown of the game, giving it a 14-0 halftime lead over the Saints.

Washington's offense already was without starting center Tyler Biadasz, who was inactive because of an illness, and wide receiver Noah Brown, who was placed on injured reserve Saturday after injuring a kidney.
