GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Jordan Love was still limited in practice Wednesday -- just like he was last week leading up to his second straight missed game because of his Week 1 knee injury. But in a sign of progress, he confirmed afterward that he was less limited than he was last week.
"Yeah, we're building it up for sure," the Green Bay Packers quarterback said. "And it's kind of just based on how I'm feeling and basing off of practice today, how I'm feeling and going from there."
While he wouldn't go so far as to announce his return for Sunday's game against the unbeaten Minnesota Vikings (3-0) at Lambeau Field, both he and his coach agreed that Love was moving better.
"Yeah, I think, you know, he's making progress," Packers coach Matt LaFleur said after Wednesday's practice.
Love was a little more emphatic about it.
"Yeah, definitely," Love said when asked if his mobility had improved. "I feel like I'm getting better every day, moving around, getting out there practicing and feeling better."
Love did not practice at all the week following his left MCL sprain in the season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles. He returned to practice last week but said they had decided before Sunday's game against the Tennessee Titans that he would not play.
"I was close, I was pretty close," Love said. "I was pushing it all week, trying to get myself ready, but at the end of the week we just determined I wasn't where I wanted to be."
Still, he went through an extensive pregame workout -- not to determine if he could play but rather to see how he felt afterward.
"Even the workout pregame Sunday, I felt I was moving around pretty well, and my body responded well to it," Love said.
The Packers (2-1) have won both games since Love's injury with Malik Willis at quarterback.
