NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Titans released veteran right tackle Michael Oher on Thursday.
They signed Oher to a four-year, $20 million contract in 2014, but the deal was drawn up to allow them to get out of it after one year and $6 million with no further cash or salary-cap expenditures.
Oher struggled in pass protection and run-blocking in 11 starts before a toe injury sidelined him. He was placed on injured reserve Dec. 13 and was waived/injured.
The Titans have invested big free-agent dollars and two first-round draft picks on the offensive line in the past two years with poor results.
Oher was the subject of the best seller "The Blind Side: The Evolution of a Game" by Michael Lewis, which was made into a major motion picture in 2009.
