News: 5 days agoMaye completed 19 of 29 passes for 259 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in Sunday's 24-23 win over the Falcons. He added eight rushing attempts for 20 yards and fumbled twice, losing one.

Spin: Maye threw a 16-yard touchdown pass to DeMario Douglas in the first quarter and added an 11-yard touchdown pass to Stefon Diggs in the second quarter to produce the second-year quarterback's eighth multi-touchdown passing performance of the season. He was picked off in the third quarter, moving Maye's TD:INT to 17:4. Maye and the surging Patriots will take a six-game winning streak into their Week 10 trip to Tampa Bay, which is one of the toughest tests on New England's historically easy schedule.

ESPN Fantasy Projection: Maye is entering his second NFL season and his first as the Patriots' Week 1 starter. The 2024 third overall pick took over as New England's starter in Week 6 and went on to play the bulk of the snaps in 10 games. Though he wasn't a starting option in fantasy (his one top-10 outing came in Week 7), he played well (17th in QBR) and provided a respectable floor, averaging 16.4 fantasy PPG (that would've ranked 15th over the full season). New coach Mike Vrabel operated run-heavy offenses all six seasons in Tennessee, which may limit Maye's upside, but that could mostly be offset by Maye's rushing ability (he ranked ninth in yards, second in YPC and fifth in scrambles among QBs as a rookie). Especially if Stefon Diggs (ACL) will be ready to go in Week 1, Maye will make for an excellent late-round flier with upside.
