News: 11 hours agoMetcalf caught five of eight targets for 49 yards in Sunday's 34-12 win over the Bengals.
Spin: Aaron Rodgers (left wrist) didn't come back out for the second half, so Mason Rudolph took over under center. Each quarterback threw a touchdown pass to running back Kenneth Gainwell and Pittsburgh's defense scored two touchdowns, but no Steelers wide receiver besides Metcalf had more than two targets. Metcalf is the top option in Pittsburgh's passing game heading into a Week 12 trip to Chicago, but it remains to be seen which quarterback will be throwing him the ball.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: Metcalf was traded to Pittsburgh after spending his first six NFL seasons in Seattle. Metcalf has proven durable (he's missed three games in his career), but he hasn't quite lived up to lofty expectations. Despite leading the NFL (by 10) with 96 end zone targets since entering the league, Metcalf has finished one season in the top 20 among WRs in fantasy PPG (10th in 2020), though he has finished top 25 in four of his past five seasons. His vertical role has limited his catch total and his scoring has underwhelmed lately, as well (6.3 TDs per season since 2022). With minimal mouths to feed in Pittsburgh, Metcalf is assured of a big target share courtesy of Aaron Rodgers and has the look of a fringe WR2.
