News: 3 days agoMetcalf recorded three receptions on six targets for 20 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 31-17 loss to the Seahawks.

Spin: The Steelers' passing attack took a significant step backward relative to Week 1, and Metcalf's output fell accordingly. He still led the team with six targets, though his longest gain went for only nine yards. Metcalf managed to salvage his day with a leaping two-yard touchdown shortly before halftime for his first score as a Steeler, though it was otherwise a forgettable performance.

ESPN Fantasy Projection: Metcalf was traded to Pittsburgh after spending his first six NFL seasons in Seattle. Metcalf has proven durable (he's missed three games in his career), but he hasn't quite lived up to lofty expectations. Despite leading the NFL (by 10) with 96 end zone targets since entering the league, Metcalf has finished one season in the top 20 among WRs in fantasy PPG (10th in 2020), though he has finished top 25 in four of his past five seasons. His vertical role has limited his catch total and his scoring has underwhelmed lately, as well (6.3 TDs per season since 2022). With minimal mouths to feed in Pittsburgh, Metcalf is assured of a big target share courtesy of Aaron Rodgers and has the look of a fringe WR2.
