It's rare for the average NBA fan to hold the Larry O'Brien Trophy, but followers of the league can get close to the hardware in another way.
Tiffany & Co. -- which has for decades created the trophy NBA Finals champions hoist in victory -- unveiled a new exclusive basketball in a partnership with contemporary, Cleveland-born artist Daniel Arsham and Wilson Basketball.
NBA admirers can get close to the hardware in another way, should they be fortunate enough to get their hands on the basketball being sold by the luxury jewelry brand.
The limited-edition Tiffany Blue ball features a logo collaboration between Arsham, Wilson and Tiffany & Co., embossed with an Asham Studio "A" and the Cleveland Cavaliers' "C."
"As the Creative Director of the Cavs -- which is my hometown team as a Clevelander -- it's a special thing to be working with the team and Tiffany & Co., and to have the All-Star game in Cleveland this year," Arsham said in a news release.
Tiffany & Co. also makes the NBA Finals MVP Bill Russell Trophy and the WNBA championship trophy.
The company's involvement in the creation of awards for professional sports extends beyond basketball. Tiffany & Co. began making trophies in 1860, with the Woodlawn Vase, the second jewel in the Triple Crown.
According to the brand's website, it has also made awards for the Super Bowl, World Series and PGA Tour.
