LOS ANGELES -- Lakers guard Avery Bradley left Sunday's 106-99 win against the Detroit Pistons late in the second quarter due to a sprained right ankle and did not return.
Bradley fell to the floor after rolling his ankle on a fast-break opportunity and had to be helped to the locker room. He underwent X-rays on the ankle, which came back negative, per the Lakers.
Coach Frank Vogel said Bradley wanted to come back into the game but was limping. Vogel said the team hopes to know more about the injury on Monday.
"Hopefully it's not too bad," Vogel said. "He felt like he could come back, but he was limping pretty significantly. So we'll just see how it responds tomorrow night, and I'm sure we'll do more testing on it tomorrow."
Bradley, who has been the Lakers' starting shooting guard for most of the season, missed 13 straight games from mid-November until early December due to a hairline fracture on the fibular head of his right leg.
Signed to a two-year, $9.8 million deal in the offseason, Bradley is averaging 8.1 points on 45.1% shooting (23.2% from 3), 2.6 rebounds and 1.0 steal per game for L.A.
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, who had a left ankle injury against the Pistons that required him to have his ankle retaped, started the second half in Bradley's place.
