The inaugural season of the Athletes Unlimited Softball League kicked off this summer. Per the official website, the AUSL is a professional women's softball league for the world's best professional softball players.
How does the league work?
Four teams competed in a 24-game slate during the regular season. Standard play will be followed up with a three-game championship series and a dynamic, points-based All-Star Cup.
How can fans watch the action?
ESPN2 and ESPNU broadcasted 18 regular-season games starting on June 10th. The AUSL championship will air on ESPN2 starting on July 26th. There will be 21 additional All-Star Cup games available on ESPN2, ESPNU and ESPN+ starting on August 2nd.
What teams are in the lineup?
The Bandits, Blaze, Talons, and Volts competed in the inaugural season. The Bandits and the Talons will face off in the championship this weekend.
Which players are participating?
The first season featured 50 NCAA All-Americans and athletes from each of the last 11 NCAA title-winning teams. Maya Brady, Bri Ellis, Lexi Kilfoyl, Skylar Wallace, Erin Coffel, Morgan Zerkle, Georgina Corrick, Hannah Flippen, Ana Gold, and more athletes made up the inaugural rosters.
