Milwaukee Brewers left-hander Eric Lauer exited with elbow tightness after allowing seven runs in 2 2/3 innings in an 8-4 loss to the Colorado Rockies on Wednesday.
A trainer and manager Craig Counsell came to the mound in the second inning after Lauer gave up Alan Trejo's two-run homer.
An inning later, Michael Toglia hit a three-run drive to make it 7-0. The trainer returned to the mound and Lauer then walked off the field after 60 pitches.
Lauer will miss at least one start, Counsell said.
"I couldn't really feel where my arm was, which was kind of alarming to me," Lauer said. "It just felt like Jell-O, so I was leaving a lot of those pitches up."
It was the second-most runs allowed by Lauer in his 26 starts this season. His ERA jumped to 15.91 in six career starts at Coors Field.
Lauer said he had some tightness in his elbow before the game, but then started experiencing numbness.
Counsell said Lauer would be examined Thursday.
"After doing all the testing, it's not super-concerning to me," Lauer said. "It seems like there's a lot of different muscle fatigue in there."
