The Miami Marlins selected left-hander Braxton Garrett of Florence (Alabama) HS with the No. 7 pick in Thursday night's MLB first-year player draft.
Scouting report: Garrett has seen a bump in velocity since last summer when he was mostly sitting in the high-80s and occasionally creeping into the low-90s.
