ESPN Fantasy Projection: Hendriks spent most of the past two years recovering from August 2023 Tommy John surgery. He attempted to return late last season but was shut down after five rehab frames. From 2019-2022, Hendriks was one of the top closers in the game but was then diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma early in 2023, and he was deemed cancer-free after a couple months of chemotherapy. Now 36 years old, Hendriks will aim to rejuvenate his career, perhaps serving as the Red Sox closer. After what he's been through, don't bet against him, though he'll have to compete with Aroldis Chapman and Justin Slaten for ninth-inning duties.
