Jaylin Williams came to play against the Gonzaga Bulldogs in the NCAA tournament.
The Arkansas Razorbacks forward threw down an absolutely spectacular dunk in his squad's Sweet 16 matchup against Gonzaga on Thursday night. JD Notae managed to draw two defenders on a pass, leaving Williams free to dash toward the rim. He went up and drove home a one-handed slam that sent fans at Chase Center in San Francisco into huge cheers.
The 4-seeded Razorbacks are trying for an upset of the 1-seeded Bulldogs. Arkansas began their tournament run by barely holding off an upset bid against 13-seeded Vermont, before moving on to end 12-seeded New Mexico State's Cinderella story early in another close matchup. Gonzaga, on the other hand, easily took care of 16-seed Georgia State in the first round before surviving a close game against a scrappy 9-seed in Memphis.
While Gonzaga was down 32-29 going into the second half, it's familiar territory for the Bulldogs in this tournament. They were -8 in point differential in the first half in the first two rounds -- but they rallied for a collective +33 differential in the second halves. It remains to be seen whether they can keep up that second half surge against Arkansas.
