Towson defeats Monmouth 73-67
WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. -- — Tyler Tejada had 17 points in Towson's 73-67 victory against Monmouth on Saturday night.
Tejada went 6 of 12 from the field (3 for 6 from 3-point range) for the Tigers (16-9, 11-1 Coastal Athletic Association). Dylan Williamson added 14 points while shooting 5 for 12, including 4 for 7 from beyond the arc while they also had five rebounds. Christian May shot 5 for 10, including 1 for 4 from beyond the arc to finish with 13 points. The Tigers prolonged their winning streak to 10 games.
Abdi Bashir Jr. finished with 19 points for the Hawks (8-17, 6-6). Madison Durr added 17 points for Monmouth. Jack Collins also put up 10 points and three steals.
Tejada put up 10 points in the first half for Towson, who led 38-33 at the break. Towson turned a four-point second-half lead into an 11-point advantage with a 7-0 run to make it a 66-55 lead with 2:59 left in the half. Tomiwa Sulaiman scored eight second-half points in the victory.

Both teams next play Thursday. Towson hosts Delaware and Monmouth goes on the road to play Stony Brook.
