The best game(s) on every remaining day of the regular season

The final regular-season Pac-12 game in the Arizona-UCLA rivalry will be one to watch -- particularly if the Bruins' upward swing continues and the Wildcats hold the line. Zachary BonDurant-USA TODAY Sports

Saturday marks exactly one month until Selection Sunday, and we'll be crowning a champion in just over 50 days. The final sprint to the postseason is officially underway.

Things are already winding down in certain leagues. Don't look now, but most teams in the Atlantic Sun, Horizon and Big South have just four regular-season games remaining. Morehead State has a three-game lead in the Ohio Valley standings and could theoretically clinch a regular-season title in the next week. McNeese State could take a 3.5-game lead on Nicholls State with five games left with a win this weekend.

There's not a night left in the 2023-24 men's college basketball regular season with a meaningless slate of games: There are regular-season title ramifications, bubble battles and constant positioning for NCAA tournament seeds every single day.

We're here to guide you through the rest of the college basketball calendar, highlighting one game per night -- with a few extra ones along the way.

All times are Eastern

Thursday

Colorado Buffaloes at UCLA Bruins (9 p.m., ESPN)

Colorado's at-large hopes are fading after losing three of its past four games -- and now the Buffs head on the road to the Los Angeles schools. That looked like a much easier proposition earlier in the season, but Mick Cronin's team has won seven of its past eight since losing to Utah by 46 points on Jan. 11.

Colorado isn't the only bubble team heading on the road in need of a win: Gonzaga is at Loyola Marymount, Memphis is at North Texas and Utah has to bounce back at USC.

Friday

New Mexico Lobos at San Diego State Aztecs (10 p.m.)

Six bids in the Mountain West are within reach, and New Mexico and San Diego State are in position to advance. They're also chasing Utah State atop the league standings and are pushing for seeding positioning in the NCAA tournament. The Lobos won the first meeting between the two teams, dominating the second half en route to an 18-point win.

Saturday

Marquette Golden Eagles at UConn Huskies (3 p.m.)

It doesn't get much better than a top-five battle that could alter the Big East title race. UConn has won 13 in a row, while Marquette has rattled off eight straight. The Huskies have a two-game lead atop the standings but still have to face the Golden Eagles in Milwaukee later this season. The point guard matchup between Tyler Kolek and Tristen Newton is as good as it gets at the position.

Two other intriguing games on Saturday: Kentucky at Auburn, Kansas at Oklahoma.

Sunday

Florida Atlantic Owls at South Florida Bulls (noon, ESPN)

Amir Abdur-Rahim has done a fantastic job with USF this season, taking over a program that went 14-18 last season and has never finished better than .500 in the AAC. He has the Bulls atop the standings and holding serve at home against FAU would go a long way. If Dusty May's team expects to win the regular-season championship, getting a road win is crucial.

There's also a must-win bubble battle in the Big East, with Seton Hall facing off against St. John's.

Iowa State hits ridiculous fadeaway late to hand Houston its first loss

Milan Momcilovic hits a tough jumper with two defenders on him to give Iowa State the late lead vs. Houston.

Iowa State Cyclones at Houston Cougars (7 p.m., ESPNU)

The first time these two teams played, Iowa State handed Houston its first loss of the season -- in what most people depicted as a "Welcome to the Big 12" moment for the Cougars. Both teams are tied for first place in the league standings. This is a matchup between the two best defenses in the Big 12 and nationally. Houston lost the turnover battle the first time around; that might again be the key.

Tuesday

UConn Huskies at Creighton Bluejays (8:30 p.m.)

This is likely one of UConn's two toughest games remaining before the NCAA tournament, given the opponent and the location. The Huskies suffocated Creighton defensively in their first meeting, but the Bluejays won't shoot 6-for-26 from 3-point range again.

Other intriguing games on the docket include Baylor at BYU and San Diego State at Utah State, as well as a Mid-American Conference showdown between Akron and Toledo.

Wednesday

Florida Gators at Alabama Crimson Tide (7 p.m., ESPN2)

These two represent two of the more impressive in-season turnarounds in the SEC this season. Alabama opened the season 6-5, but has won 11 of its past 13 games to sit in a tie for first place atop the league standings. Meanwhile, Florida opened SEC play with three losses in four games, but has won six of its past seven games to play its way into the NCAA tournament. Expect plenty of points in this one.

And, once again, the Mountain West has another showdown on the schedule: Colorado State at New Mexico.

Washington State holds on to upset No. 8 Arizona

Washington State picks up the home win over No. 8 ranked Arizona 73-70.

Washington State Cougars at Arizona Wildcats (11 p.m.)

Kyle Smith has done one of the best coaching jobs in the country this season, with the Cougars poised to go dancing for the first time since 2008. A big part of their résumé is a home win over Arizona on Jan. 13, which means the Wildcats will be looking to avenge that loss to stay one game ahead of Wazzu in the league standings and also maintain their 1-seed hopes.

Another game to watch this night is a clash between the two best teams in the WAC: Grand Canyon at Tarleton State.

Feb. 23

Yale Bulldogs at Cornell Big Red (7 p.m., ESPN+)

The Yale-Cornell showdown this past weekend was a battle between two of the three remaining teams without a loss in conference play. Yale won that game by two. Can Cornell get revenge and push for a tie atop the Ivy standings? It's worth noting Yale has to travel to Princeton on Saturday, which could mean Cornell has a chance at taking sole possession of first by the time this game rolls around.

There's also a MAAC matchup worth your time: Fairfield at Quinnipiac.

Feb. 24

Houston Cougars at Baylor Bears (noon), North Carolina Tar Heels at Virginia Cavaliers (2 p.m., ESPN), Alabama Crimson Tide at Kentucky Wildcats (4 p.m.)

This should be a tremendous tripleheader. Baylor has been up and down in Big 12 play, but the Bears are tough to beat at home. They also have the offense to push Houston. Carolina has hit a bit of a speed bump after a 10-game winning streak, while Virginia saw its eight-game winning streak snapped on Tuesday -- but both are still among the ACC title contenders. Alabama's trip to Kentucky should be one of the highest scoring games of the season. The two best offenses in the SEC, two very middle-of-the-pack defenses.

Feb. 25

Florida Atlantic Owls at Memphis Tigers (2 p.m., ESPN)

The two preseason favorites in the American, this matchup has taken on a different level of importance. Florida Atlantic is still in the title hunt, but the Owls' struggles with inferior teams have impacted their NCAA tournament résumé. Memphis flat-out needs another résumé-boosting win. The Tigers are on the outside looking in as of today, and they don't have too many big chances left.

St. John's will also be in desperation mode when it hosts Creighton at noon, while Youngstown State's trip to Green Bay could help decide the Horizon League race.

TCU Horned Frogs vs. Baylor Bears: Full Highlights

TCU Horned Frogs vs. Baylor Bears: Full Highlights

Baylor Bears at TCU Horned Frogs (9 p.m., ESPN)

The first game between these two teams was a triple-overtime classic in Waco, when TCU handed Baylor its only home loss of the season. Baylor is still pushing for a top-three seed in the NCAA tournament, while TCU is hoping to wear home jerseys in the first round of the dance. The offensive rebounding battle will be a big factor in this one.

Feb. 27

BYU Cougars at Kansas Jayhawks (8 p.m., ESPN+)

If you've been paying attention, you wouldn't be shocked to know BYU is actually ranked higher than Kansas in multiple metrics. But the Cougars have struggled away from home, and Kansas' edge at Allen Fieldhouse needs no explanation. Can BYU find a way to make enough shots from the perimeter in front of that raucous environment?

One other game to watch is Nevada's trip to Colorado State. The Wolf Pack put themselves in the at-large discussion with two wins last week and another big win will boost their résumé.

Feb. 28

Auburn Tigers at Tennessee Volunteers (7 p.m., ESPN2)

The only time this season these two teams will face each other -- and it should still impact the SEC title race. Auburn has been the best defense in SEC play by a wide margin, and it will be interesting to see if the Tigers have an answer for Dalton Knecht. And does Tennessee have one for Johni Broome? Another interesting individual battle will be Zakai Zeigler vs. Aden Holloway at point guard.

Feb. 29

Gonzaga Bulldogs at San Francisco Dons (11 p.m., ESPN2) and Nebraska Cornhuskers at Ohio State Buckeyes (6:30 p.m.)

Two teams on either side of the NCAA tournament cutline head on the road in what could be must-win situations by this point in the season. Gonzaga got itself back into the mix by winning at Kentucky last week, but it can't afford too many more losses and needs to take advantage of its Quadrant 1 and 2 opportunities. Nebraska has really struggled on the road, with its lone away win coming back in mid-December against Kansas State.

March 1

Dayton Flyers at Loyola Chicago Ramblers (9 p.m., ESPN2)

If Dayton ends up not winning the Atlantic 10, having to play Richmond and Loyola Chicago on the road without getting either title contender at home could be the reason. Drew Valentine has done an impressive job turning around the Ramblers after a 6-5 start, as they've won 11 of their past 13 games entering Wednesday night -- and are right there with the Flyers and Spiders in the A-10 title race.

March 2

Illinois Fighting Illini at Wisconsin Badgers (1 p.m.), Kansas Jayhawks at Baylor Bears (1 p.m., ABC), Marquette Golden Eagles at Creighton Bluejays (2:30 p.m.), Tennessee Volunteers at Alabama Crimson Tide (8 p.m., ESPN) and Gonzaga Bulldogs at Saint Mary's Gaels (10 p.m., ESPN)

An absolutely loaded slate of basketball on the penultimate Saturday of the regular season. In the early afternoon, Illinois' trip to Wisconsin could be big for seeding in the Big Ten and NCAA tournaments; Kansas heads on the road to Baylor for a rematch of the Jayhawks' 64-61 win last weekend; and Marquette and Creighton will likely be fighting for the position right behind UConn in the Big East. At night, Tennessee at Alabama will have an impact on the SEC regular-season title race, while Gonzaga essentially gets its final opportunity to boost its résumé with its regular-season finale at Saint Mary's.

A handful of other games to watch: Houston at Oklahoma, New Mexico at Boise State, Florida at South Carolina, TCU at BYU, Michigan State at Purdue, Mississippi State at Auburn and Virginia at Duke -- which could have a big say on the ACC title race by that point.

March 3

Bradley Braves at Drake Bulldogs (2 p.m., ESPN+) and Murray State Racers at Indiana State Sycamores (2 p.m., ESPN+)

The regular-season title will likely be decided on the final day for the Missouri Valley. Indiana State's loss to Illinois State on Tuesday night opened things up a bit, as the Sycamores now have just a one-game lead on Drake. On this final day, the Bulldogs will play host to third-place Bradley, while Indiana State hosts Murray State, which entered the week tied for fifth.

March 4

Texas Longhorns at Baylor Bears (9 p.m., ESPN)

Back-to-back Big Monday appearances for Baylor means back-to-back Monday inclusions on this list. The Bears won the first meeting between these teams, going on the road and knocking off the Longhorns by two. The matchup to watch will be Texas' Dylan Disu, who has been one of the best frontcourt players in the Big 12 this season, going against Baylor's Yves Missi, who has taken his game to a new level offensively over the past few weeks.

March 5

Purdue Boilermakers at Illinois Fighting Illini (7 p.m.)

This is likely a matchup between the two best teams in the Big Ten and a rematch of Purdue's five-point win over the Illini in early January. That game came while Terrence Shannon Jr. was suspended, and his ability to score off the bounce could cause problems for Purdue's perimeter defense. Will Coleman Hawkins be once again up to the test of slowing down Zach Edey?

There are several other good games on the docket too: Alabama at Florida, Cincinnati at Oklahoma, Nevada at Boise State, Kansas State at Kansas.

Ta'Lon Cooper's clutch 3-pointer pads South Carolina's lead late

Ta'Lon Cooper hits a 3-pointer to increase South Carolina's lead late vs. Tennessee.

Tennessee Volunteers at South Carolina Gamecocks (7 p.m., ESPN2) and UConn Huskies at Marquette Golden Eagles (8:30 p.m.)

These two games could have a huge impact on the SEC and Big East regular-season standings, respectively -- or those titles could be wrapped up by this point. But with all four teams fighting for top-four seeds on Selection Sunday, they'll undoubtedly still matter. South Carolina's road win at Tennessee on Jan. 30 was the biggest statement performance of the season for the Gamecocks, and the Vols will want revenge. UConn will likely still be in play for the overall 1-seed in the NCAA tournament, and a road win at Marquette would be huge.

Two more games to monitor: BYU at Iowa State, Northwestern at Michigan State.

March 7

Arizona Wildcats at UCLA Bruins (9 p.m., ESPN/ESPN2)

The last regular-season Pac-12 game in the Arizona-UCLA rivalry should have some meaning, despite the teams being on different trajectories this season. The lone loss in the Bruins' recent winning run came at Arizona on Jan. 20, and Mick Cronin has completely turned this team around since its 1-8 stretch in December and January. Meanwhile, Arizona will need this one for Pac-12 title and NCAA tournament 1-seed purposes.

March 8

Boise State Broncos at San Diego State Aztecs (10 p.m.)

Boise State should be able to pad its record and its NCAA tournament profile, with four winnable games coming up on the schedule, but a few more slip-ups and it might need to get this win to end the regular season. It won't be easy at Viejas Arena, where San Diego State hasn't lost all season. And after the Aztecs came back to beat Colorado State on Tuesday, Brian Dutcher's team is right in the thick of the Mountain West title race.

March 9

Kansas Jayhawks at Houston Cougars (4 p.m., ESPN) and North Carolina Tar Heels at Duke Blue Devils (6:30 p.m., ESPN)

The first weekend of February was billed as perhaps the best regular-season slate of games in recent history, featuring four top-10 matchups. All four pairs were scheduled for their rematches on the final regular-season weekend of 2023-24. But less than two weeks after that historically good slate, two of those eight teams are almost out of the top 25, and most have suffered a surprising loss.

Regardless, Kansas at Houston and UNC at Duke will be must-see games. With Houston owning a two-game lead in the loss column on Kansas, the Cougars have a leg up in the Big 12 race, and they could potentially clinch the regular-season championship on this Saturday. Kelvin Sampson and Houston leaving the AAC for the Big 12 and walking away with a title in Year 1 would be some statement. UNC-Duke meanwhile always matters, and with the Tar Heels' recent struggles, this one could have an impact on the ACC regular-season title.

Other games to watch: Kentucky at Tennessee, New Mexico at Utah State, Baylor at Texas Tech, Oklahoma at Texas and Memphis at Florida Atlantic.

March 10

Wisconsin Badgers at Purdue Boilermakers (12:30 p.m.)

Wisconsin lost the first meeting between these two, with Lance Jones coming up big at both ends of the floor to get a road win for Purdue. The game was part of the Badgers' four-game losing streak that took them out of the Big Ten title race and sent them careening down the top 25. They really struggled shooting the ball against the Boilermakers and haven't really snapped out of their perimeter funk since. Purdue could have the Big Ten title wrapped up already, so at this point the Boilermakers could be comfortably ahead of the pack for a 1-seed on Selection Sunday.
