Schenley (Pittsburgh) senior Markel Walker is rated the nation's No. 1 wing and No. 4 overall recruit in the ESPNU HoopGurlz 100. Walker signed with UCLA in November, and she tells us five reasons she is looking forward to becoming a Bruin.
1. The campus
"It's all together. It's a big campus. It's surrounded by the stuff you hear about in movies."
2. The coaches
"I felt like I could call and talk to them about anything. I feel like I could have a regular conversation with coach (Nikki) Caldwell."
3. The team
"They have their priorities straight. They're good students and positive people."
4. The city
"I stayed at this beautiful hotel when I visited and I was on the 15th floor. I had a great view."
5. The weather
"It was in the high 70s when I visited. They were telling me it was cold. I said, 'No way.'"
