Family, coaches help Marinacci succeed

Each weekday, ESPN RISE brings you five vital stats from athletes across the country.

Foothill (Santa Ana, Calif.) senior forward Christina Marinacci is rated the nation's No. 35 overall girls' basketball recruit in the ESPNU HoopGurlz 100 and is bound for USC next year. She's worked hard to get to where she is today, but Marinacci knows she wouldn't have garnered all of her success without her family and coaches. Here are the five people who have helped her most along the way.

1. My dad
"He's been there for me since I started playing sports. He's one of my greatest motivations. He pushes me, but he also keeps me in love with the game. He doesn't push me so hard that I start hating it."

2. Russ Davis, AAU coach
"He's helped me so much with fundamentals. He really helped me become a defensive player as well as an offensive player. He knows so much about the game that he made me a smarter player."

3. My mom
"She's always there for me."

4. Bill Seibert, my high school coach
"He's also taught me a lot about the game. He helped me adjust to the quickness of the next level. During the recruiting process I was stressed out, and he helped me that too."

5. Doug Shinoda, father of friend and teammate Blair Shinoda
"When I started playing basketball, he and my dad coached together. He helped me get into basketball."
