After months of speculation and controversy, the final round of the inaugural competition for the LIV Golf Invitational Series is complete.
Charl Schwartzel took the lead partway through Day 1 and never relinquished it, holding off a challenge from teammate and South African countryman Hennie Du Plessis on Saturday in London. Schwartzel ended the tournament at 7 under, with Du Plessis just behind him at 6 under. Schwartzel will claim a prize in excess of $4 million for his efforts. Dustin Johnson was in eighth place at 1 under, while Phil Mickelson was 10 over and tied for 33rd.
The PGA Tour announced Thursday that it had suspended the then-17 members who were competing in the event. Players who compete in LIV events are ineligible to participate on the PGA Tour or any other tours it sanctions. Players who take part in future LIV Golf events will face the same discipline.
Here are the sights, sounds and leaders from the third round of the LIV London tournament.
