Indie developer Megagon Industries has much to celebrate. Its skiing game Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders has surpassed a million players since launching on PC and Xbox Series X|S -- a major milestone that was likely helped by its availability on Xbox Game Pass.
To mark this special occasion, Megagon has published a free update for the winter sports title, adding two game modes for players to tackle.
In Trick Mode, which is unlocked at level 20, alpine aces can work on more than 100 challenges, completing very specific scenarios as they head down the mountain to score points.
In Free Ride Mode, players can forget about any checkpoints or specific routes -- the only goal is to ski down the slopes as fast as possible. Players will need to reach level 35 to gain access to this mode.
Leaderboards and achievements are available for both of the additions. Crucially for those players who don't want to engage with online multiplayer, the two modes will provide enough XP to finally reach the maximum account level without having to compete with other players.
Megagon also brought various accessibility features to the title, such as auto-brake, auto-accelerate, toggling buttons instead of holding them and button mapping.
More content for the title is already underway as well, with an expansion expected to arrive in fall alongside a PS5 port.
