Manchester United have beaten Crystal Palace 2-1 to arrest a winless run and recover from last week's dismal defeat to Everton at home.
Jean Philippe-Mateta's penalty gave Palace a deserved lead in the first half and could have been 3-0 up going into the break, had it not been for some lacklustre finishing.
United were comfortably second-best but found a way back early in the second half, after Joshua Zirkzee's stunning finish from a tight angle. It was his first league goal of the season and only his fourth overall for the club.
Their second also came through another unlikely source, with Mason Mount brilliantly firing into the bottom corner from a Bruno Fernandes lay off from a freekick at the edge of the Palace box.
Having fallen behind, Palace lost the verve that had marked their first half showing and struggled to find a way back into the game.
The result sees United climb above Palace into sixth place, and one just one point outside the Champions League places.
