LONDON -- Tottenham manager Thomas Frank said the issue Cristian Romero suffered in the warmup ahead of the clash against Aston Villa is a "minor doctor issue [and] nothing big."
The Tottenham captain was replaced by Kevin Danso in the lineup moments before kickoff for his start in the Premier League this season.
Romero has completed 90 minutes in each of Spurs' seven games this season. He started Argentina's friendly against Venezuela in the recent international break but remained on the bench for the game against Puerto Rico.
Frank said he isn't sure if he will be involved in the midweek Champions League game against Monaco.
Spurs will go into that clash hoping to regain momentum after a damaging 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa, who came back from a goal behind after stunning strikes from Morgan Rogers and Emeliano Buendía.
While Frank rued their profligacy in front of goal, he heaped praise on their defensive performance. Both Villa goals were their only shots on target.
"I think we were excellent. We gave away very, very [little]," he told a post-match news conference.
"I think ... There's a couple of things you can look into when you look defensively. We gave away what, eight shots I think. Not even a cross, more or less. Very, very low xG and Vicario didn't have a save [to make].
"So we've done that and then you've done ... Well we gave two goals away. That is in a position outside the box with a lot of players behind the ball where you said to me before the game, they will shoot from there ... Rogers and Buendía with that situation. 'Ah yeah, of course that's not dangerous' but a fantastic quality shot from Rogers.
"So in those nothing moments or very little moments, they had more courage in them."
The loss means Spurs have won just three of their last 18 Premier League matches at home and have taken three points just once at home in the league this season.

When asked if he can explain their abysmal home record, Frank said: "I hope I can maybe. I don't think it's that simple. I think it's about looking into the performances. I think we played well against Burnley.
"I think we performed well again today. I think we had one very good first half against Wolves and then we were bad against Bournemouth. So some of that's probably the reason I think is a game that it's a draw, a clear draw and we could easily have won today instead of Villa and then it would be a different narrative."
