Real Madrid central defender Antonio Rüdiger has been diagnosed with a leg muscle injury sustained in a Spanish league game on Saturday.
Sources have told ESPN that Rüdiger will be out for two-to-three weeks, meaning he will miss a clash against Leganés in the Copa del Rey, Saturday's Madrid Derby, the Champions League playoff first-leg against Manchester City, and a LaLiga clash against Osasuna. He is also expected to be a doubt for the second leg against City on Feb. 19.
Madrid said on Sunday that Rüdiger has "an injury to the biceps femoris" in his right leg after he had to be substituted in the 15th minute of Madrid's 1-0 defeat at Espanyol.
The team are already without Dani Carvajal and Éder Militão in defence -- while David Alaba has only just returned from a long-term absence -- with the transfer window set to close on Monday.
Madrid are one point ahead of Atlético in LaLiga.
