Welcome to Week 9 of the NFL season and our weekly PPR fantasy football superflex rankings for 2022. We know many of you now compete in superflex formats that invite/covet second quarterbacks in starting lineups, so these rankings account for that. It might look odd to see the lowest-ranked fantasy passers ranked ahead of typical RB2 and WR2 options, but the potential scoring impact demands it. If your league is of the standard flex variety, just ignore the presence of quarterbacks. Regardless, good luck in Week 9 and beyond!
Week 9 byes: Cleveland Browns, Dallas Cowboys, Denver Broncos, New York Giants, Pittsburgh Steelers, San Francisco 49ers
These rankings have been updated for news and to remove players from Thursday's Eagles-Texans game.
1. Josh Allen, Bills (QB1): Fantasy's top scorer comes off his worst game, and it was still 17.6 points!
2. Patrick Mahomes, Chiefs (QB2): Welcome back from the bye. As with Allen, his worst game is still 17 points.
3. Lamar Jackson, Ravens (QB3)
4. Justin Herbert, Chargers (QB4): Not that the rib injury seemed to hurt his stats, but coming off the bye week should help. He gets the Falcons this week.
5. Tyreek Hill, Dolphins (WR1): Remember the amazing Cooper Kupp numbers from last season? Hill may get there.
6. Cooper Kupp, Rams (WR2): Ankle injury has him questionable, but difficult matchup at Tampa Bay may be just as important.
7. Austin Ekeler, Chargers (RB1)
8. Alvin Kamara, Saints (RB2): Nary a touchdown in first five games. Now he has three. All is well again.
9. Stefon Diggs, Bills (WR3)
10. Derrick Henry, Titans (RB3): Can he just play against the Texans every week? That would be nice! Still, he's worth it versus every team.
11. Joe Burrow, Bengals (QB5): Perhaps the loss of WR Ja'Marr Chase is a bigger deal than expected. Rough Monday in Cleveland.
12. Kyler Murray, Cardinals (QB6)
13. Tua Tagovailoa, Dolphins (QB7): Had no trouble with the Lions, and the Bears defense didn't exactly thrive last week, either.
14. Justin Jefferson, Vikings (WR4)
15. Geno Smith, Seahawks (QB8): Didn't do much in first meeting with Cardinals, but didn't need to. How can we bench him?
16. Aaron Rodgers, Packers (QB9)
17. Josh Jacobs, Raiders (RB4): Quiet game versus Saints, but facing the Jaguars should be easier.
18. Aaron Jones, Packers (RB5): Torched Bills defense with big running plays, while still involved in passing game. Perfect!
19. Dalvin Cook, Vikings (RB6)
20. Joe Mixon, Bengals (RB7): Cincy offensive line is hurting Burrow and Mixon, but volume is still there. Hard to sit him.
21. Travis Etienne Jr., Jaguars (RB8)
22. Travis Kelce, Chiefs (TE1)
23. Kirk Cousins, Vikings (QB10): He has the exact same number of fantasy points as Herbert, in same number of games. Cousins is safe, too.
24. Justin Fields, Bears (QB11): Don't laugh! He's been a top-five QB in consecutive weeks, and Miami's defense is, well, inconsistent.
25. Trevor Lawrence, Jaguars (QB12)
26. Davante Adams, Raiders (WR5): Caught one of five targets for three yards versus Saints. How does that happen? Won't happen this week.
27. DeAndre Hopkins, Cardinals (WR6): Looking dominant and impossible to cover, just like the old days.
28. Jaylen Waddle, Dolphins (WR7)
29. Tee Higgins, Bengals (WR8): Late Monday touchdown saved fantasy managers, but loss of Chase hasn't helped him yet.
30. Marcus Mariota, Falcons (QB13)
31. Taylor Heinicke, Commanders (QB14): He's a superstar! OK, he's at least competent and worth our attention, for however long the team plays him.
32. Kenneth Walker III, Seahawks (RB9): Fantasy superstar has touchdowns in four consecutive games. Trending toward RB1 status.
33. Rhamondre Stevenson, Patriots (RB10)
34. Amon-Ra St. Brown, Lions (WR9): Saw 10 targets in Week 8 return to health. Shouldn't be concerns here.
35. Derek Carr, Raiders (QB15): Concerns here after awful Week 8, but likely to bounce back. Plus, six teams are on bye. You may need Carr!
36. Tom Brady, Buccaneers (QB16): Not playing great, clearly, but could be far worse. Only one interception so far.
37. Andy Dalton, Saints (QB17): Why would they go back to Jameis Winston? Dalton's been fine.
38. DK Metcalf, Seahawks (WR10)
39. Tyler Lockett, Seahawks (WR11)
40. Terry McLaurin, Commanders (WR12): With Heinicke at QB, he's a WR2 again. With the other guy, not so much.
41. Chris Godwin, Buccaneers (WR13): Only WR among top 40 in PPR scoring without a touchdown catch. Seems aberrant.
42. Mike Evans, Buccaneers (WR14)
43. Leonard Fournette, Buccaneers (RB11)
44. Matthew Stafford, Rams (QB18): Still has more interceptions than TD passes. Not cool, man, not cool. Tough Buccaneers await.
45. Ryan Tannehill, Titans (QB19): Expected to return from one-week absence. Titans didn't let rookie Malik Willis do much last week.
46. Jared Goff, Lions (QB20)
47. DJ Moore, Panthers (WR15): Now has TDs in consecutive weeks, returning to WR2 territory. Just keep the helmet on.
48. Christian Kirk, Jaguars (WR16)
49. JuJu Smith-Schuster, Chiefs (WR17)
50. Chris Olave, Saints (WR18): Even his relatively quiet games fetch us double-digit fantasy points.
51. Sam Ehlinger, Colts (QB21): Efficient, conservative offense in his debut. No reason to think Colts adjust things much for him.
52. PJ Walker, Panthers (QB22): Not recommended, for if he struggles at any point, Panthers probably go back to Baker Mayfield, even in-game.
53. Zach Wilson, Jets (QB23): Well, this has been disappointing. Still, he's a starting QB. They tend to score fantasy points.
54. Mac Jones, Patriots (QB24)
55. D'Onta Foreman, Panthers (RB12): Running like he wants to be an RB1 in fantasy, and he may get there soon.
56. Raheem Mostert, Dolphins (RB13)
57. Devin Singletary, Bills (RB14): Doing what they ask him to, but only TD this season came on a reception. Not great upside.
58. D'Andre Swift, Lions (RB15): Still dealing with ankle, shoulder injuries, and Lions should remain cautious with volume.
59. Jamaal Williams, Lions (RB16): In other words, keep this fellow around. Lots of touchdowns! (And volume.)
60. James Conner, Cardinals (RB17)
61. Cordarrelle Patterson, Falcons (RB18)
62. Michael Pittman Jr., Colts (WR19): Looking pretty average this season, and QB change may not help.
63. Kenyan Drake, Ravens (RB19)
64. Allen Lazard, Packers (WR20): They get the Lions, thus we like Lazard if he can suit up and play.
65. Gabe Davis, Bills (WR21)
66. David Montgomery, Bears (RB20): Volume remains, but it sure looks like a timeshare and the other guy is playing better. Definitely better.
67. Khalil Herbert, Bears (RB21): This is the "other guy." Perhaps soon Montgomery is the other guy. Get Herbert if you can.
68. Joshua Palmer, Chargers (WR22): Last played in Week 6, but opportunity will be there this week!
69. Michael Carter, Jets (RB22): Yawn. Perhaps Jets can no longer run because the remaining RBs aren't Breece Hall.
70. Antonio Gibson, Commanders (RB23): Back in front of RB hierarchy because Heinicke looks his way in passing game.
71. Adam Thielen, Vikings (WR23)
72. Rondale Moore, Cardinals (WR24): Hopkins seeing much defensive attention can work well for Moore.
73. Tyler Boyd, Bengals (WR25): Chase is out another month, probably, so Boyd remains worthwhile option.
74. Curtis Samuel, Commanders (WR26)
75. Jakobi Meyers, Patriots (WR27): Remember when he couldn't score TDs? Now he has three in six games. Useful option.
76. Romeo Doubs, Packers (WR28): Again, gets to play the Lions, so bump up Rodgers and his receivers a bit. Or more than a bit.
77. Zach Ertz, Cardinals (TE2)
78. Gerald Everett, Chargers (TE3)
79. T.J. Hockenson, Vikings (TE4): May not see big role in first game after Tuesday trade, but even a small role may be enough.
80. Tyler Higbee, Rams (TE5)
81. Kyle Pitts, Falcons (TE6): Would love to believe his excellent Week 8 means all is well again. But we would like to see more.
82. Zay Jones, Jaguars (WR29)
83. Robert Woods, Titans (WR30)
84. Devin Duvernay, Ravens (WR31): Rashod Bateman injury also opens the door for him to see more targets, at least in theory.
85. Darnell Mooney, Bears (WR32): Draft-day bust has more than 50 receiving yards in five consecutive games. Time to reconsider when you cut him.
86. Garrett Wilson, Jets (WR33)
87. Drake London, Falcons (WR34): Not much production since Week 3, and it's disheartening because there's so much talent here.
88. Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Chiefs (RB24)
89. Tyler Allgeier, Falcons (RB25)
90. Hayden Hurst, Bengals (TE7)
91. Robert Tonyan, Packers (TE8)
92. Terrace Marshall Jr., Panthers (WR35): Saw nine targets last week. Team clearly likes him and it should.
93. Parris Campbell, Colts (WR36): From double-digit targets to only two last week. Have to figure he's more involved this week.
94. Mack Hollins, Raiders (WR37)
95. Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Chiefs (WR38)
96. Mecole Hardman, Chiefs (WR39): Scored three TDs (including two rushing!) in team's most recent game. Sign of things to come?
97. Allen Robinson II, Rams (WR40): Not much happening here. Stats look similar to last year, and last year was bad.
98. Alec Pierce, Colts (WR41)
99. Eno Benjamin, Cardinals (RB26): Remains Conner insurance, but keep him around even if Conner plays.
100. AJ Dillon, Packers (RB27): He's running well, and has 10 rushes in two of past three games. Keep him rostered.
101. James Robinson, Jets (RB28): Quiet first game. Tough to play him until he gets more love.
102. Isiah Pacheco, Chiefs (RB29)
103. Evan Engram, Jaguars (TE9): Scored first TD in last game, and has been seeing consistent targets for a month.
104. Mike Gesicki, Dolphins (TE10)
105. Hunter Renfrow, Raiders (WR42): This may be it for him in fantasy if Carr doesn't look his way more against Jaguars.
106. Marvin Jones Jr., Jaguars (WR43)
107. K.J. Osborn, Vikings (WR44)
108. Brian Robinson Jr., Commanders (RB30): Low volume in Week 8 is not a great sign at all. He's also seeing little involvement in passing game.
109. Chase Claypool, Bears (WR45)
110. DeAndre Carter, Chargers (WR46)
111. Van Jefferson, Rams (WR47)
112. Isaiah McKenzie, Bills (WR48)
113. Tyler Conklin, Jets (TE11): Big Week 8 game, but hard to trust any Jets receiving options right now.
114. Dawson Knox, Bills (TE12)
115. Taysom Hill, Saints (TE13): Averaging 9 PPR points the past two games, so he remains involved.
116. Darrell Henderson Jr., Rams (RB31): May want to stash Kyren Williams for when he gets healthy enough to play.
117. Nyheim Hines, Bills (RB32): May take a bit before he gets a big role as receiver, but it may be substantial.
118. Isaiah Likely, Ravens (TE14)
119. Dontrell Hilliard, Titans (RB33)
120. Rachaad White, Buccaneers (RB34)
121. Tre'Quan Smith, Saints (WR49)
122. Jeff Wilson Jr., Dolphins (RB35): Now with Miami, reunited with former 49ers teammate Mostert. Don't expect volume this week.
123. Marquez Callaway, Saints (WR50)
124. Sammy Watkins, Packers (WR51)
125. Julio Jones, Buccaneers (WR52)
126. Tyquan Thornton, Patriots (WR53)
127. Phillip Lindsay, Colts (RB36)
128. Noah Fant, Seahawks (TE15)
129. Juwan Johnson, Saints (TE16)
130. Sony Michel, Chargers (RB37)
131. Jerick McKinnon, Chiefs (RB38)
132. JaMycal Hasty, Jaguars (RB39)
133. Kalif Raymond, Lions (WR54)
134. Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, Titans (WR55)
135. Damiere Byrd, Falcons (WR56)
136. James Cook, Bills (RB40)
137. Samaje Perine, Bengals (RB41)
138. Dwayne Washington, Saints (RB42)
139. Alexander Mattison, Vikings (RB43)
140. Caleb Huntley, Falcons (RB44)
141. Kendrick Bourne, Patriots (WR57)
142. Demarcus Robinson, Ravens (WR58)
143. Christian Watson, Packers (WR59)
144. Spencer Brown, Panthers (RB45)
145. Rashid Shaheed, Saints (WR60)
146. Avery Williams, Falcons (RB46)
147. Mike Thomas, Bengals (WR61)
148. Tom Kennedy, Lions (WR62)
149. Olamide Zaccheaus, Falcons (WR63)
150. Malcolm Brown, Rams (RB47)
