Monday's NBA slate features seven games, with five of them having relatively large spreads. The game I'm most excited about is the Detroit Pistons traveling to Utah to face the Jazz in the final game of Utah's homestand.
This will be the Jazz's ninth straight game at the Delta Center. The Pistons have been fun to watch this season, as their rebuild continues to progress with Cade Cunningham emerging as one of the front-runners for Most Improved Player.
There's one bet that stands out to me from this game, but we also have other bets and streamers worth keeping an eye on. Let's dive in.
Monday's fantasy stream team
Naji Marshall, SF/PF, Dallas Mavericks (available in 94.4% of ESPN leagues): Marshall should see an expanded role with P.J. Washington sidelined due to an ankle injury, especially with Moses Brown's 10-day contract expiring Sunday. He has cleared 25 fantasy points in two of his past three games and has a strong chance to play 30-plus minutes. The Kings rank 17th in defensive rating and will be without Domantas Sabonis, making this a great spot for Marshall to produce.
Caris LeVert, SG/SF, Atlanta Hawks (55%): LeVert has been thriving off the bench for the Hawks since his trade from the Cavaliers in early February. He has scored 20 or more fantasy points in six of his past eight games, including four with 30 or more points. While most of his fantasy value comes from scoring, he also contributes a handful of rebounds, assists and steals.
Scoot Henderson, PG, Portland Trail Blazers (63.2%): Henderson has been playing well off the bench for the Trail Blazers, scoring 20 or more fantasy points in six straight games, including two with 32 or more. The 76ers have given up the sixth-most points per game to point guards this season, making this a great spot for Henderson. With a narrow spread, expect this to be a competitive game where Henderson could really shine.
Moody's favorite bets for Monday
Atlanta Hawks vs. Memphis Grizzlies under 253.5 points (-110): This line is the highest on the slate and for good reason. The Hawks and Grizzlies rank first and second in pace over the past 15 games. However, neither team is a defensive powerhouse, ranking in the bottom half of the league in defensive rating. That creates the potential for a high-scoring game, but I expect Hawks coach Quin Snyder to focus on tightening their defense and maximizing offensive opportunities. Atlanta has hit the under in 70% of their games this season, and Memphis has gone under in 80%. This number could be too high, especially with Ja Morant being questionable for the game.
Mark Williams under 14.5 points (-105): Williams has surpassed this line in two straight games, but those performances came against a Mavericks team missing several bigs and a Wizards squad that ranks among the worst defensively in the league. Prior to that, he went under this line in four straight games. The Warriors have been effective at limiting points from centers this season, particularly in the paint, where 70% of Williams' field goal attempts have come from. With Golden State being heavy favorites, there's a risk that Williams' minutes could be impacted in this matchup.
Ausar Thompson over 20.5 points, rebounds and assists (-125): Thompson has hit this line in six of his past 10 games, averaging 24.4 minutes per game. Meanwhile, the Jazz have struggled against small forwards, allowing the fourth most points and tenth most assists per game this season. Even though the Pistons are nearly double-digit favorites, Thompson should get enough minutes to clear this line.
Alperen Sengun under 20.5 points (-105): The All-Star has gone over this line in four of his past five games. However, the Thunder are one of the top defensive teams in the league and he has gone under this line in all three matchups against Oklahoma City this season. OKC defends centers well, and the Rockets are nearly double-digit underdogs. Sengun has gone under this line in five of seven games the Rockets have lost by 10-plus points. Keep in mind, this is also the first game of a back-to-back for Houston.
Anfernee Simons over 28.5 points, rebounds and assists (-115): Simons has cleared this line in six of his past 10 games, averaging 16.8 field goal attempts in 34.1 minutes per game. During that span, he has also averaged 6.7 rebound chances and 8.5 potential assists per game. The 76ers struggle defending guards, making this a spot for Simons to excel. He also cleared this line against Philadelphia earlier this season.
