Esports organization FaZe Clan announced Monday that NBA player and two-time All-Star Ben Simmons has joined FaZe as an investor and brand ambassador under the name "FaZe Simmo."

According to a statement, the Philadelphia 76ers forward will be an ambassador to the organization for content, as well as an advocate for gaming and esports and the expansion of FaZe Clan globally. Terms of Simmons' investment were not disclosed by the organization. Forbes reported Monday that Simmons' investment is part of a Series B funding round that has yet to close.
"My role with FaZe now goes much deeper than the initial investment," Simmons told Forbes. "I am going to bring it back to Australia and bring an international side to it. I also want to bring more kids into it."
A gamer since his teenage years, Simmons has interacted with FaZe Clan talent and participated in FaZe Clan events in the past. While the NBA was on hiatus, Simmons also took to Twitch to stream Call of Duty: Warzone gameplay.
FaZe Clan currently houses a plethora of prominent streamers and content creators on top of several esports teams across titles such as the Call of Duty League (Atlanta FaZe), VALORANT, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, Rainbow Six Siege, FIFA and Fortnite.
