League of Legends jungler Mike "MikeYeung" Yeung has moved over to Echo Fox, the player and team announced Sunday.
MikeYeung was with Team Liquid's Academy team after he was unable to maintain the stellar form he displayed in 2017 with Phoenix1, when he won Rookie of the Split during his League Championship Series debut. After moving to Team SoloMid ahead of the 2018 season but toiling on that roster, the 20-year-old wound up on TSM's Academy roster before joining Team Liquid's Academy team.
The jungler was happy to make the move to Echo Fox.
"Really excited to be playing back in LCS with @echofoxgg gonna show NA watsup with my high tempo jungling that we need to beat EU like in 2017 RR," MikeYeung tweeted.
Team Liquid wished MikeYeung a fond farewell.
"As an org you always feel proud whenever a member of your academy team makes the big move to the LCS," the team said in a statement. "And while we haven't had Mike "MikeYeung" Yeung on our team for very long, we always knew he would find his way back to the main stage.
"Mike joined our team looking to learn from our main squad and prove that he is capable of being one of the best junglers in NA. In the past couple of months alone Mike has acted as our 6th man, become an MSI Finalist, and proved himself to be just as talented as those at the top. Thanks for the hard work, dedication, and all the laughs Mike. Good luck and have fun on Echo Fox."
MikeYeung's arrival also signaled the departure of one of Echo Fox's LCS starters. Lee "Rush" Yoon-jae, a former player for Cloud9 and South Korean squad KT Rolster, announced he is leaving Echo Fox via his Twitter account.
"I am no longer contracted with Echo Fox, officially a free agent," Rush said. "I am open to all opportunities, Dms are open. More details might be revealed on stream later."
