MSI schedule changes to accommodate Vietnam mourning period

The schedule for the upcoming League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational was altered Monday to account for two national days of mourning following the death of a former Vietnamese president.

Le Duc Anh died at age 99 on April 22, and Vietnam will honor his memory on May 3 and May 4.

The Mid-Season Invitational cancelled scheduled play-in matches on May 3 and May 4 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Early-round play-in matches are now set for May 1, May 2 and May 5, with the play-in knockout stages slated for May 6-7.

The group stage is scheduled for May 10-14 in Hanoi, Vietnam. The semifinals (May 17-18) and final (May 19) will be contested in Taipei, Taiwan.

Thirteen teams are set to compete in the $1 million Mid-Season Invitational.
