TwitchCon 2018 kicked off Thursday at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, Calif. Here is an overview of the esports competitions that will be held there over the next three days.
Fortnite Fall Skirmish
Epic Games kicked off a six-week Fortnite Fall Skirmish series with a new club-based format in September. For the final, all players will be required to use the same inventory to ensure a fair playing field.
The finals for the Fall Skirmish will take place over three days at TwitchCon with an open and invitational tournament to determine the Fall Skirmish champions. The combined prize pools of the tournaments will represent at least $2.6 million of the $10 million overall prize pool for this season's Skirmish.
The duos tournament is open to those who registered before TwitchCon and will consist of a two-stage format. In Stage 1 heats, the winning teams will be those with the most points at the end of four matches.
The top 12 teams from each heat, along with two wild card teams, will advance to Stage 2: the finals. The teams with the most points at the end of six matches will be declared the winner, with Victory Royales and Eliminations scored to determine the final standings.
The Stream-Vitational tournament on Sunday will feature 50 popular content creators and 50 randomly selected conference attendees.
The format includes two solo matches for the first two games and one duos match for Game 3. The final placements will be determined by how long players stay alive in the game.
The Skirmish event will run all three days of the tournament, with Epic Games streaming the competitions on the official Fortnite Twitch channel.
Broadcaster Royale
The biggest PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds streamers go head-to-head in a new format, where streamers must survive against the competition and a gauntlet of challenges that require players to embrace risky strategies to win a piece of the $300,000 prize.
The event takes place live across the street from the convention center at the City National Civic Theater, beginning at 4:30 p.m. ET on Thursday.
Dorito's Bowl
The Doritos Bowl will feature Twitch's biggest personalities competing in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4's all-new battle royale mode, Blackout. Doritos Bowl team captains for this event will be Tyler "Ninja" Blevins, Michael "Shroud" Grzesiek, Jack "CouRage" Dunlop and Ben "DrLupo" Lupo. The event starts at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday.
The event will be streamed live via the Doritos Twitch channel, with players competing for the larger share of the $250,000 prize pool.
Team Ninja: Ninja, Josh "JoshOG" Beaver, Brennon "GoldGlove" O'Neill, Justin "Fearitself" Kats
Team Shroud: Shroud, Justin "Just9n" Ortiz, Jake "ChocoTaco" Throop, Chad "Chad" Goff

The format will include one point for kills. Placing in the top-10 of a round will earn a 0.5 multiplier bonus, with multipliers of 0.75 for top five and 1.25 for top 3.
Each team will try to score as many points as possible during the four heats, with the lobby opening up after all team members have entered a game. Points will be awarded for earning kills and placing in the top 10.
The team with the most points at the end of the final heat will be crowned the champion.
