Boise State, Utah to participate in LAN at DreamHack Denver

The matchups for DreamHack Denver's Overwatch Grudge Match, the first LAN event involving multiple varsity esports programs from FBS schools, were released Saturday.

Boise State and Utah, which both announced varsity esports programs this year, will participate in Friday's event at the National Western Complex. The AVGL-sponsored event is part of two days of collegiate competition at DreamHack Denver, with the first DreamHack Collegiate League of Legends Championship on Saturday.

The matchups for the tournament include in-state programs and Pac-12 universities. Participating teams will compete in best-of-five matches. Boise State, which began varsity competition this fall, will face Colorado State at the event. Utah will compete against Arizona State. The full list of matchups is below.

  • Noon ET: University of Denver vs. University of Northern Colorado

  • 2 p.m. ET: University of Colorado at Colorado Springs vs. Colorado School of Mines

  • 4 p.m. ET: Colorado State vs. Boise State

  • 6 p.m. ET: Utah vs. Arizona State

  • 8 p.m. ET: Arizona vs. University of Colorado at Boulder
