The final match of the quarterfinal group stage came to an end in OGN Overwatch APEX Season 3. LW Blue and Lunatic-Hai entered the battlefield for the final spot in the semifinals, and with unfortunate circumstances surrounding the former, Lunatic-Hai handed LW Blue their unfortunate exit from APEX.

Map 1: Nepal (Control)
Map 2: Eichenwald (Assault/Escort)
Map 3: Volskaya Industries (Assault)

LW Blue has been a force of power in APEX this season until their regular tank player, Song "janus" Jun-hwa, had a case of pneumothorax that required surgery. Having just come back into the main roster, LW Blue played like a former shadow of itself given how little practice it had with janus out of commission. The flaws presented themselves in this set in the face of overwhelming odds as Lunatic-Hai employed a show of force fitting of their status as the reigning champions.

Despite the fact that Lunatic-Hai benched Lee "Whoru" Seung Joon, Moon "Gido" Gi-Do was more than ready, bringing the hurt to LW Blue and even showing off Orisa during the set. Nepal was one-sided in the favor of Lunatic-Hai, and Eichenwald was little different from Nepal, other than LH Kim "EscA" In-jae brandishing Sombra again. Showing off his star talent throughout the series in Lunatic-Hai's corner of course was Ryu "Ryujehong" Je-hong's Mei. He was crucial to stalling on point B of defense, forcing LW Blue to take it in overtime, while allowing Lunatic-Hai to capture point B with ease, earning them Volskaya Industries.

All in all, a disappointing yet understandable performance from LW Blue earned them a 0-3 loss, with Lunatic-Hai advancing to the semifinals of APEX for a chance to hold their title.

The semifinals will begin on June 30th with Afreeca Freecs Blue going up against Lunatic-Hai. The second semifinals feature KongDoo Panthera and EnVyUs locking horns later on July 4th.
