League of Legends coach David "Cop" Roberson has rejoined Team Dignitas as its head coach, replacing the likes of Kim Jeong-soo and Park Jae-seok in the coaching staff positions, the team announced Friday.

Team Dignitas is 2-6, resulting in a tie for eighth place with Team Liquid, in the North American League Championship Series. Cop's first game with the team will take place Friday night against FlyQuest, the team that currently holds second place in the league.

Cop initially was set to work with the team when Apex Gaming -- for whom he was an assistant coach -- merged with Team Dignitas following a September acquisition of both organizations by the ownership group of the Philadelphia 76ers. However, the team replaced Cop and Brandon "Saintvicious" DiMarco with Park and Kim in December.

Prior to taking up the Dignitas coaching offer, Cop was in talks to join Team Liquid as a substitute AD carry behind Chae "Piglet" Gwang-jin, as reported by ESPN on Feb. 8. Cop declined that offer due to the Dignitas one being "significantly better," according to sources close to all three parties.

The team acquired three players -- South Korean stars Kim "Ssumday" Chan-ho and Lee "Chaser" Sang-hyun, as well as domestic talent Benjamin "LOD" deMunck, during the offseason -- but has failed to show top performance with its new roster. Cop previously coached the team's only two longtime players, Alex "Xpecial" Chu and .Jang "Keane" Lae-young.
