The third day of OGN Overwatch APEX featured a number of clever strategies and clutch plays. As the group stages continue to progress, more teams will fear the pressure of being eliminated, especially if the top two teams from each group continue to dominate and build a lead over the bottom two. In this survival-of-the-fittest environment, it's more important than ever to keep a level head.
"I want to be the world's best Tracer player," said BK Star's Chae "Bunny" Joon Hyuk.
This proclamation during the post-match interview is an apt description of the drive seen in his games. BK Stars's team of high schoolers swept MVP Space 3-0 by adapting some more strategy to their play instead of brute-forcing the win like they did last week against Kongdoo Uncia. Instead of being on Tracer the entire match, Bunny added Mei and Reaper to his main hero lineup. but he didn't shine alone this time.
Fellow teammate Kim "DoHyeon" Do Hyun was also awarded MVP for his McCree, Genji and Bastion play. BK Stars rolled out on King's Row with Bastion on offense, which is an unusual choice, given that Bastion is more suited for setting up a turret defense. Bunny built a bridge for his team with Mei's Ice Wall, allowing them to storm the back corner on the first point within the first 15 seconds to set up DoHyeon's Bastion and decimate MVP Space's defense.
Emerging victorious 3-1 over KongDoo Panthera, the REUNITED lineup could rest easy. They were completely smashed by RuNAWAY on Monday, but against KongDoo, they showed glimmers of the stability they were known for. The road to redemption, however, is not over.
