Clinton "Fear" Loomis announced today that he would be officially retiring as a competitive player due to health concerns. Loomis will stay with Evil Geniuses as coach for the upcoming competitive season.

"I have been living my dream of being a professional gamer for over a decade now, and in that time I've accomplished each of the goals I placed for myself and for EG Dota," he said in his statement. "Now, I have to pursue a new goal - getting healthy. I still have a passion for Dota and for competing, but the long term health of my arm has to come first."

Loomis has one of the most illustrious careers in Dota, dating back to 2005. He started out on a makeshift team called PluG Pullers Inc. and became one of the first sponsored Dota players when the squad got picked up by compLexity Gaming in 2006. He's also played alongside famous Dota players like Ben "Merlini" Wu, Clement "Puppey" Ivanov, Kuro "KuroKy" Salehi Takhasomi and Jimmy "DeMoN" Ho. He's competed in four Internationals -- three under EG and one under Online Kingdom -- and took first place in 2015 at The International 5.
