With the fall season of the Halo Championship Series Pro League right around the corner, a new organization has entered the fray. It was announced on Wednesday that Luminosity Gaming, established in 2015 but already well known in the esports industry, will take the dive into the competitive Halo scene.
The roster will include Brett "Naded" Leonard along with Sal "eL TowN" Monahan, Kevin "Eco" Smith and Dan "Danoxide" Terzilli. Naded, a Halo veteran, took the summer season off after qualifying for the Pro League with OpTic Gaming; this announcement marks his return. He joins eL TowN, formerly of third-place finisher Team EnVyUs, and Eco and Danoxide, who both managed to avoid relegation while playing for Team Liquid at the end of last season but were replaced in the organization's roster overhaul.
eL TowN said, "[I'm] excited to have Luminosity enter the Halo scene, and bring in its loyal fans. Having Luminosity will help grow Halo esports as a whole from its huge fan base as well as plenty of content for everyone. The organization is amazing; we've been practicing every day and our improvement has been insane."
Luminosity Gaming has emerged as a powerful organization within North American esports, with teams in both flagship and up-and-coming esports titles such as Counter Strike: Global Offensive and Overwatch.
The fall season of the North American HCS: Pro League kicks off on Sept. 14 and features a $225,000 prize pool.
