Team SoloMid has dropped its newly acquired Overwatch team after "additional allegations" surfaced regarding some of the players' histories with cheating in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, the team announced. The move comes just over two weeks after TSM brought the squad on board.
"When negotiating with the players, Nicolas 'NicolasTJO' Aubin and Jake 'torkTJO' Lepoff brought up their history in CS:GO to our attention. While we were disappointed in hearing this news we thought that we could still make it work," read the release on TSM's site.
The bans in question come from CEVO, a popular third-party Counter-Strike application with leagues and ranking systems. Both players were caught with suspicious software installed on their computers while competing on CEVO, resulting in bans from the league.
TSM is facilitating a move of the roster to CompLexity Gaming. TSM owner Andy "Reginald" Dinh says the organization has always been about "hard work and performance," and the move is meant to protect the brand's legacy.
