The Honky Tonk Man will join the WWE Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2019. As first reported by CBS Sports’ Brian Campbell on the “State of Combat” podcast, Honky Tonk Man joins D-Generation X and a number of yet-to-be-named inductees who will be honored during a ceremony on April 6 as part of WrestleMania weekend in New York. Honky Tonk Man, whose real name is Wayne Farris, spent five key years of his wrestling career in the WWE. Most famously, Honky Tonk Man defeated Ricky Steamboat to win the Intercontinental championship and went on to have a 454-day run -- a mark that stands to this day as the longest continuous reign in that title's history. Before joining WWE, Honky Tonk Man spent a significant part of his career traveling wrestling's territory system, with many of the most prominent moments in his career coming in his home state of Tennessee.
