ESPN Bark in the Park to Benefit the V Foundation

Attention dog lovers and owners! As part of National Dog Day on Thursday, August 26, ESPN is hosting ESPN Dog Day to celebrate these pets and animals with an evening of dog-related programming that includes dog action sports and an airing of the classic Disney film Turner & Hooch, starring Tom Hanks.

ESPN Bark in the Park - a partnership with the American Kennel Club will begin airing at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN2, and will feature more than 90 dogs competing in various dog competitions, including Diving Dogs, Weave Pole, Flyball and Agility. Immediately after the programming, "Turner & Hooch" will air at 9 p.m. ET on ESPN2. A half-hour Disney-themed American Kennel Club (AKC) Meet the Breeds® will kick off the evening at 6:30 p.m. ET on the ESPN App.

The event, held at Dunkin Donuts Park in Hartford, Conn., will benefit the V Foundation for Cancer Research's "Raise Your Paw" campaign, which funds collaborative research between veterinary medical centers and leading cancer centers. The goal is to help advance treatments for both human patients and pet dogs with cancer.
