Betting Celtics-Thunder: Four props that stand out

Two of the top teams in the NBA clash Wednesday night on ESPN when the Boston Celtics (47-18, 23-11 at home) host the Oklahoma City Thunder (53-12, 24-7 on the road). Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET.

The Thunder look to keep their six-game road winning streak alive without Jalen Williams (hip), who didn't make the trip to Boston and is without a timeline to return. Meanwhile, Celtics star Jayson Tatum (knee) is questionable.

ESPN BET is offering an array of prop bets for the Celtics (-2.5, 229.5) and Thunder, and here are betting experts Andre Snellings and Eric Moody with the bets they like most.

Bets we like

Thunder +2.5 (-105)

While I appreciate that the Celtics are playing well right now, in the midst of a five-game winning streak, and many expect them to be shifting into playoffs-mode to defend their title, we can't just ignore that the Thunder have been absolutely elite all season and are playing some of their best basketball of the season right now. The Thunder have the best scoring margin in the NBA, outscoring their opponents by 12.6 points per game. They have won eight of their last nine games, and have played well this season even when Jalen Williams has been off the court. Per Basketball Reference, the Thunder have out scored opponents by 18 points per 100 possessions with Williams off the court.

The Celtics have three starters on the injury report, with both Tatum and Kristaps Porzingis listed as questionable. When these teams met in January, the Thunder won by 13. I have the Thunder favored in this game, so to get them and points is strong value. -- Snellings

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander over 44.5 points, rebounds and assists (-115)

Even though the Celtics rank fifth in defensive rating, they've struggled against point guards this season. Boston allows the fifth-most points and the seventh-most rebounds per game to the position. Meanwhile, Gilgeous-Alexander has been on a tear lately. He's cleared this line in three of his last five games, averaging 24 field goal attempts, 7.6 rebound opportunities and 13.8 potential assists per game. Gilgeous-Alexander has surpassed this line in each of his last two games against the Celtics and should be leaned on heavily in this matchup, particularly with Williams out. -- Moody

Jayson Tatum over 15.5 assists and rebounds (-130)

Tatum and Jaylen Brown are relied upon heavily in marquee games -- the type of televised matchups that get a lot of attention. We saw this most recently in their games against the Lakers and Cavaliers. Tatum has cleared this line in seven of his last 10 games. The three games he went under were blowouts. Tatum's averaged 11.8 potential assists and 13.8 rebound chances per game, giving him plenty of opportunity to clear this line (as long as he plays). -- Moody

Jaylen Brown and Gilgeous-Alexander each to score over 29.5 points and Celtics to win (+550)

Let's have some fun with this one. You can check out my analysis on Gilgeous-Alexander above, but let's dive into Brown. He's cleared this line in just two of his last five games. But here's the thing: those two games were against two strong teams, the Cavaliers and Lakers. Brown took 24 field goal attempts against the Cavs and 25 against the Lakers. This could be a potential NBA Finals preview, and the Celtics will be looking to prove to the Thunder that they're still the team to beat, especially after their home loss to OKC two months ago. -- Moody
